Continuing Our Mission: Kneu Health and the Power of Knowledge in Neurology
Since our inception, our goal has been clear: to change the way the world manages Parkinson's and dementia by embedding knowledge at the heart of care. Today, as we continue that journey, we are strengthening our commitment and broadening the scope of value we can deliver to patients, families, and health systems.
The evolution of our name to Kneu Health reflects this deepened commitment. The "K" stands for knowledge — the principle that has guided us from the beginning, and the foundation we believe is essential for transforming neurology.
Why Knowledge Matters
Neurological disorders are escalating into a global health crisis. Parkinson's is the fastest-growing neurological disease worldwide, while dementia cases are projected to triple by 2050. Yet too often, vital knowledge about disease progression is missing — patients wait months between specialist visits, while health systems face growing shortages of neurologists. By the time care arrives, decline has already accelerated.
We believe knowledge is the key to changing this trajectory. When clinicians and families have clearer, earlier insight into what's happening, they can act sooner, intervene more effectively, and feel more confident about the care being provided.
Building Knowledge Into Everyday Life
Our smartphone-based platform is FDA-cleared for Parkinson's tremor measurement and clinically validated to track motor, speech, and cognitive change entirely by phone. By turning everyday interactions into insightful clinical measures, we create a continuous flow of knowledge that fits naturally into daily life.
For clinicians, this knowledge enables risk stratification across populations, earlier detection of decline, and more precise interventions. For families, it replaces months of uncertainty with daily reassurance that changes will be recognised, not missed.
As Caroline Cake, our CEO and co-founder, explains:
"We built Kneu to make knowledge continuously available — to clinicians, patients, and families — so care can shift from reactive to proactive, and become truly personalised."
And as our Chief Medical Officer and co-founder, Dr Kinan Muhammed, notes:
"Too often, critical knowledge is missing between visits. Kneu provides that missing insight, enabling earlier detection, clearer treatment decisions, and better use of scarce clinical resources."
Strengthening Our Foundation
Our platform is built on over a decade of longitudinal research and enriched by hundreds of thousands of real-world digital measures from NHS deployments. It has been validated through studies published in Neurology and the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry. With live pilots at Cedars-Sinai and Mass General Brigham, and deployments across multiple NHS Trusts, Kneu Health is proving its impact at scale.
That one reason the commitment is deepening is that we have seen, as use has increased, a growing amount of evidence that the clinical, operational and patient engagement impact of our technology is very significant. Commitment has increased because we are moving from a vision of improved care to a reality of improved care.
Dr John Glaser, Chair of Kneu Health, reflects:
"From the beginning, we have believed that knowledge transforms care. Adding the 'K' to our name cements that belief. It symbolises our ongoing commitment to embed knowledge into neurology, helping health systems and families act sooner and with greater confidence."
Looking Ahead
Our mission has not changed — but our commitment has deepened. With Kneu Health, we are doubling down on the principle that knowledge must be at the centre of neurological care. By continuing to turn everyday actions into clinical insight, we are working to ensure that proactive, knowledge-driven neurology becomes the standard of care worldwide.
About Kneu Health
Kneu Health is pioneering a new model of precision neurology for Parkinson's and dementia: care that is proactive, compassionate, and designed for the realities of everyday life. Built on one of the most advanced longitudinal datasets in Parkinson's care — the Oxford Parkinson's Disease Centre Discovery Cohort — Kneu's smartphone-based platform turns structured at-home assessments into actionable insights, enabling clinicians to detect decline earlier and act before symptoms escalate. The technology analyzes speech, movement, memory, and cognition in just minutes a day, using trained models to generate predictive scores and digital biomarkers that inform treatment and care. Kneu is working with leading U.S. health systems to expand access, ease workforce strain, and set a new standard for brain health monitoring. To learn more, visit https://www.kneu.com/us.
