Identifying and predicting fast versus slow Parkinson's disease motor progressors using clinical and digital data
This study demonstrates that smartphone-based motor assessments can help predict how quickly Parkinson's disease symptoms may progress. By combining digital measurements with clinical assessments, patients at greater risk of faster motor deterioration were identified, achieving substantially better prediction than clinical measures alone. The findings highlight the potential of accessible smartphone technology to support more personalized care, improve disease monitoring, and help identify suitable participants for future clinical trials.
